I am an Indian. I am living in India. I have not been to USA. And I have no idea of settling down in any other country. I wish to visit other countries as tourist or for work. And I don’t have any idea beyond that. I have a reason for the same. Information from my friends staying there is the biggest reason. Information I received from them makes me to think about the phrase “Luxurious life in the US”. Rather, I can call it as
“Wealthy refugee life with virtual family”
Let me narrate few scenario from the information I received from my friends,
1. One of my friend is working as Research associate in United States. He is a pure vegetarian guy. He has to travel 3 hours in the morning and 3 hours in the evening for his work. He couldn’t find pure vegetarian restaurants on his way. So he will get the raw materials during the weekend. Cook his own food. Store that in the refrigerator and eat the same during the weekdays. He doesn’t cook everyday, because no time.
2. One of my friend went to The USA to pursue his Master degree. He is really brilliant guy. That became the biggest minus for him at the university. Local American guy had warned him, not to stay in US after the master degree. He also warned him that, he will do anything to throw him out of the country.
3. My uncle went to US to purse his master degree. He stayed there after the master degree. He is currently working in the silicon valley. His Grandmother was in the death bed. The time when he came to India, he visited her. He didn’t come back for her death.
4. My friend’s sister went to US on work visa. She was not feeling well. She had fever for one week. There were none to help her. She didn’t get proper food during the fever. She was completely down. Her parents were crying on her condition via Skype.
Are these luxurious life?
I have just shared few things which I immediately remembered. Although it depends upon the situation and person, I am not comfortable in migrating to some other country. My reason are simple,
- India is my country. I have a strong hold on my country. None can send me out of this country and none can ask me to go out of this country.
- I am going to live in this planet for 50–70 years. I just want money to live for these period. And I have a hope that, I can earn that in India itself.
- I am just going to live with my parents for 20–40 years. I don’t want to live in the remote place and miss the moments with them. If not with them, I wish to live closely with them.
- I don’t want to feel proud about my country by staying in some other country. Life or death, let that be in my own country.
- Quality education in US is another Myth. Indian Education system itself will give enough money to live in this planet. So, This education is more than sufficient, than the refugee quality education.
I will visit countries as tourist or working professional, but will never settle down there
