2022 - Work from home for Indian employees
Officially work from home was initiated by the major IT companies from the year 2020. During the initial days of pandemic, work from home was considered as the game changer for the industry. Companies were able to retain their business and employees were able to retain their job. Employees felt it as the perfect to maintain the work life balance. Work from home continued in 2021 too.With upcoming Omicron strain, majority of the companies will continue the work from home in 2022 too.
Companies will not do anything or continue anything which will not give profit or savings to them.Work from home has lead to Infrastructure Cost savings for the companies. Few companies have reduced their infrastructure too and made permanent savings. In the name of permanent work life balance, Many IT companies have started promoting permanent work from home too.
Permanent work from home is the biggest trap in the name of work life balance. Peer learning will become zero. Exposure to new environment and people will become zero. A job is more than work and salary. Without peer learning and experiencing the people experience, the real essence of the job will be in stake. The more you stay at home, more the companies will gain and employees will loose. So, think before accepting permanent work from home offer.
Note: You might save rent and other expenses by migrating from your home. You might save money, but loose many other things. And you cannot learn anything new from home and your comfort zone.
This is applicable for college and university students too. Staying at home and doing online learning will not bring the real effect of college life. College life is more than studies and grades.
Many are thinking that,companies and institutions are concerned about our safety and increasing the work from home. Crazy people.
Note: During the initial days of pandemic, work from home and online education was awesome. Now, it's not the same. Employees, teachers and students are overburden and looking for their organisation to to re-open. This will make them to draw a clear line between work(study) and life.
Work and Life cannot be together. A clear line is always required. Hopefully this pandemic will be over and the lines will be drawn.
